Born and raised in Gloucester, Dave Foote—the son of a local fisherman—developed a deep appreciation for the area’s rich architecture and history at a young age. While his friends were at the beach, Dave could often be found at the library, learning about the legacy of Cape Ann’s historic homes and the chimneys at their heart.

In 1994, what began as a one-man operation has grown into one of the most trusted chimney services on the North Shore. Footie’s Chimney Sweep has proudly served generations of homeowners, helping keep one of the most cherished parts of the home— the hearth — clean, safe and ready to enjoy.

As the business and his family grew, so did his team. Dave’s daughters, Skye and Brittany, have joined the company, bringing with them new energy, skills and the same deep-rooted commitment to customer care and quality craftsmanship. Together, they’ve helped Footie’s become one of the most respected chimney companies in Massachusetts, serving hundreds of homes each month and earning the trust of homeowners, HOAs and businesses alike.
